Amy took a meandering path to arrive at massage therapy. Inspired by a volunteer-abroad program she completed as a teenager, Amy earned a degree in International Development Studies and Political Science with the intention of an overseas career. Instead, she veered off into the small-scale organic farming lifestyle where she stayed for five years. It was during this time that Amy became aware of body mechanics and the importance of self-care. Nursing a chronic injury and fascinated by how bodies work, Amy steered herself towards massage therapy.
During her time at massage school, she gained a reputation amongst staff as a deeply enthusiastic and passionate learner which earned Amy the Authentic Healer Award upon graduation. Amy’s main interest in massage is empowering clients to set and meet personal treatment goals and simply feel better in their bodies. She is passionate about working with clients who have hip or low back issues, and also thoroughly enjoys working with clients of all body types, shapes, sizes, and abilities. Amy’s training’s currently include deep tissue, positional release which allows deeper access to chronically tight sore spots as well as hot stone massage. She aims to treat every client and treatment with fresh eyes and welcomes you to work within her massage therapy practice.
